The new public Watchtower magazine gives more chilling visions of an anticipated apocalypse
The new public Watchtower magazine gives more chilling visions of an anticipated apocalypse

Not content with telling Witness children they may die if they don’t listen at meetings, Watchtower is making sure its doomsday message is heard loud and clear in the latest May 2015 public edition of the Watchtower magazine.

A striking image of disheveled Armageddon survivors clambering over rubble adorns the front cover, accompanied by the question “Is the End Near?”

On turning the cover, readers are greeted by a photoshop mock-up of a lady staring through a car window as fireballs rain down from the sky consuming buildings while terrified people flee the destruction through city streets.

The gruesome imagery is a re-working of another Watchtower front-cover (above), released only as recently as January 2013, in which similar scenes of fireballs raining from the heavens in an urban environment formed the backdrop to the title “Should You Fear the End of the World?”

And Witness children will be only too familiar with the above image from page 242 of their “Learn From the Great Teacher” books in which screaming women are depicted running from (you guessed it) fireballs and burning/collapsing buildings, with angelic forces riding overhead in the fiery sky.

This growing collection of apocalyptic artwork betrays the true nature of Jehovah’s Witness doctrine. Yes, Witnesses are peaceful people, and believe that one day the whole earth will be rid of wickedness – but this “wickedness” from which the planet must be cleansed includes anyone who passes on the opportunity to join the Witness faith.

As I mentioned in a recent article (and in this week’s interview on the David Pakman show) – take a shovel and start digging around in the hypothetical paradise, and you will find it has been built on the corpses of billions of people whose only crime is to not want to be Jehovah’s Witnesses.

destruction2

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that they alone will walk away from the coming apocalypse unscathed, as the above illustration (which has been reworked countless times over the decades in various books and magazines) depicts.

Apparently, without so much as a speck of blood or smear of debris on their clothing, Witnesses will one day stroll in an orderly line with their smiling children straight from the smouldering wreckage of Armageddon into flowery meadows.

Unfortunately, lots of Witnesses who glance at this artwork won’t bother to stop for a moment and consider that the above vision is impossible according to their own teachings. Why? Because disobedient humankind EVERYWHERE will be destroyed. There will be no convenient demarcation between where the good and ‘bad’ people live. There will be no sweeping grassy pastures to walk towards to escape the carnage. The carnage will be everywhere.

As my video below shows, Governing Body Gerrit Losch has even given disturbingly detailed consideration (in multiple talks, no less) to the fact that teams of Witnesses will one day be required to bury the mountains of dead bodies left behind in Armageddon’s wake. There will be no rest for the righteous when it comes to getting rid of the evidence of the earthwide bloodbath.

In case you need me to spell it out for you: Jehovah’s Witnesses are a doomsday cult. But this new magazine has all its bases covered, and tries rather feebly to mount a case for the defense…

doomsday-prophetsThe above paragraph offers a classic example of Watchtower denying being (or doing) something by redefining what that thing is. For example, the organization denies that it espouses creationism by redefining creationism to refer only to young-earth creationism.

In the latest JW Broadcasting episode, Governing Body member Sam Herd denies that Jehovah’s Witnesses are brainwashed by implying that brainwashing is essentially tantamount to a group of people all agreeing on the same thing, as in learning algebra in a math class.

In this article, Watchtower is yet again deploying word games in the hopes that its readers are stupid. Apparently “doomsday” doesn’t refer to an apocalyptic religiously-inspired day of judgment, but to the WHOLE planet earth being obliterated as though it has fallen prey to the Death Star.

Watchtower’s vision of the future, in which everyone who doesn’t want to be a JW is slaughtered, is therefore a “positive message,” because at least there will be survivors, and a planet for them to live on.

Basically if the shoe fits, Watchtower doesn’t always like to wear it – especially when it comes to words like “doomsday” or “creationist” that make them look bad.

Thankfully, though, not everyone falls for the subterfuge. Non-Witnesses in particular will balk at these magazines once they start adorning the public witnessing carts, and doubtless even a few Witnesses standing near those carts will wince in shame.

There is simply nowhere to hide if you are a doomsday cult. Your morbid, apocalyptic visions of the future will find expression sooner or later and, if you’re deluded enough, you will depict them front and center on your literature for all to see.

Check out the fake Anthony Morris 3 twitter page. Hilarious. I love this guy’s obsessive-compulsive preoccupation with men in tight pants. He seems to be one of those crazy homophobic homosexuals. You know, a closet case who hates gays, like Mr. Garrison on South Park. Prediction: Tony Morris will eventually undergo gender reassignment surgery and take a leather-clad S&M Freddie Mercury-looking lover. LOL
Seriously, though, folks, can anyone tell me if any one of the Magnificent Seven has EVER held down a REAL job in his life? You know, one involving timelines, quotas, quality control, performance reports, pressure, stress, actual skills other than mindlessly babbling or sitting back and fabricating fairy tales?

    Folks,

As an atheist, I have a real problem with this doomsday scenario.

If this God is omnipotent, why can’t he simply remove those individuals who don’t do as he wants, without collateral damage? Why all the falling buildings and corpses?

I repeat my point, to kill people is distressingly easy. Any idiot can do that. Keeping people in good health, well fed, housed, watered, well educated and living to their potential is extremely hard. That is the kind of challenge for an omnipotent God!

The WTBTS is currently reeling from the exposure of its duff prophecies, its immoral policies, and its complete lack of honesty.

Thanks for another great article, Lloyd.

    Peace be with you, Excelsior!

The message for Jehovah witnesses is. Mind control, fear, make people paranoid imbalance. So with the feeling of mind control, and fear Jehovah witnesses will give anything they have to the watchtower.their Life’s, time, money, children, wife’s, husbands, obedience education, searching the truth about JW, freedom, The message the Jehovah witnesses rank getting from the government body is not any other way ether you come to us or you will die. you have no any other choice we are the direct channel from God. A logical question to the Watchtower would be: If Armageddon isn’t going to happen until “this good news will be preached throughout all the earth”, what about all the billions of people who have never even heard of Jehovah’s Witnesses?

Another question about the Revelation: If all the Kings of the earth are going to get together to fight against God, which God are they going to get together to fight against and where are they all going to gather together to fight against this mythical God? Can they all agree on anything, let alone fighting against some God, that they all supposedly hate and can they agree on where they are all going to gather their armies together?

If they are all agreeing to get together to fight against this mythical God, then wouldn’t that mean that they already have one religion and no wars then? Why would there be an end of wars since all the Kings are agreeing to fight against some God that they all hate? Wouldn’t that imply that there is only one government at that time?

What the Watchtower conveniently leaves out when it quotes Matthew 24:14 about the preaching work is that going on in that very same 24th chapter of Matthew 24, it tells about not listening to false prophets who are saying here is the Christ. Who are the only ones saying that Christ has been present since 1914? Oh yes, new light in 2013. Is he present or isn’t he present? Were they lying to us for 100 years?

The latest article uses the word “exterminate”.

This word reminds me of two things.

    1. The Nazi’s attempt to exterminate the Jews, and others who were deemed unworthy of their 3rd Reich.

    2. The nemesis of the Doctor, the Daleks.

Interestingly, Terry Nation, the creator of the Daleks, based his monsters on the Nazis.

Jehovah God is going to exterminate people. Billions of people.

I just wish I could be exterminated by a Dalek, instead of a spirit version of Joseph Rutherford!!!!

    Exterminate! Exterminate!! EXTERMINATE!!!

The Jehovah’s Witnesses are a disgusting religion. They take an already bonkers book, the bible, and pull out verses at random to back their doomsday cult.

I am hopeful that the recent news reports about mass murderers being baptised (Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper), a couple allegedly in good standing sold fake bomb detectors, and the recent case of the ex JW jihadi will all add up to complete revulsion and rejection by the public.

I hope the name Jehovah’s Witness will be reviled everywhere.

    Peace be with you, Excelsior!

It should be obvious that they are compulsive liars for their sake because the text yesterday says “The elders wont risk there standing with Jehovah BUT most people know thats a lie based on their sick conduct that many have fallen victim to. Satan is their father the father of the lie .
Only a worshipper of Satan or innocent people who have not yet got a wake up call will say otherwise.

@redgreenyellow, I looked at the text for today too and I am wondering just which Armageddon are they talking about, the Armageddon before the thousand years or the one after the thousand years because according to that talk that Stephen Lett gave at the annual meeting, it seems like it’s only the one Armageddon, so it must be the one after the thousand year, right? Or is it the one before the thousand years? But if it’s only the one Armageddon, then it has to be after the thousand years right, since the Bible is so clear on that, in Rev. chapter 20. If it’s the Armageddon after the thousand years, then why don’t they say so then? Or is it just a ploy to keep all of JW’s plodding on and on for nothing?

Here is what it says in that May 1 2015 Watchtower 2015:

“A book on religions commented that the preaching work of Jehovah’s Witnesses has been “almost unparalleled in its intensity and scope.” This witnessing emphasizes the good news that very soon “the end will come” through the action of God’s Kingdom.” – (Watchtower 2015, May 1, Pg. 7, IS THE END NEAR?)

They don’t say the end COULD come very soon, or that it MAY come very soon, or we HOPE it comes very soon. NO, they say it in absolute terms, “very soon the end WILL come”. This is no different than Rutherford saying in 1919, “Millions now living will never die”.

I personally have been hearing “Very Soon” for 50 years. If you look at the history of Jehovah’s Witnesses you will find that they have been saying it for over 100 years. History proves that what they are saying is misleading and manipulative.

And it obvious from their own actions that they don’t believe it themselves, the way they building a new headquarters at Wallkill, and are pushing to build new commercial-style style Kingdom Halls.

How sad that most Jehovah’s Witnesses just stick their heads in the sand to the facts!

That is so true, the answer is YES. Notice these Watchtower quotes:

“Only Jehovah’s Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil.” – Watchtower 1989, 9/1, Pg. 19, Remaining Organized for Survival Into the Millennium)

“For the security and survival of true worshipers, an arklike spiritual paradise exists. (2 Corinthians 12:3, 4) To be preserved through the great tribulation, we must remain in that paradise.“ – (Watchtower 2003, 12/15, p. 19, par. 22, Our Watchfulness Takes On Greater Urgency)

“But Jehovah’s servants already belong to the only organization that will survive the end of this wicked system of things.” – (Watchtower 2007, 12/15, p. 14, par. 19, Are You Ready for Jehovah’s Day?)

“Soon, Jehovah’s day will come. Now is the time to return to our heavenly Father’s loving arms and to the congregation—the only safe haven in these last days.—Deut. 33:27; Heb. 10:24, 25.” – (Watchtower 2013, 11/15, p. 14, par. 17, How Can We Maintain “a Waiting Attitude”?)

“If, therefore, we wish to benefit from Jehovah’s protection during the great tribulation, we must recognize that Jehovah has a people on earth, organized into congregations. We must continue to take our stand with them and remain closely associated with our local congregation.” – (Watchtower 2014, 11/15, p. 27, par. 18, “Now You Are God’s People”)

Living life in expectation of the imminent destruction of all human
institutions, and most of human life. Leads to anxiety and a
    detachment from reality, ( Psychosis).

It causes a withdrawal from society and from many normal human
activities and experiences. A head shrinking process takes place.
The main focus of the mind is on that single event and of your
survival. It’s the focal point of all discussion at meetings with like
    minded believers.

Personal ambition, education, is deemed to be pointless and a
threat to your life. Many have grown old, not planning for the
future, and have ended up, relying on the support of the very
institutions (Governments). That they’ve spent their lives
    condemning as Satanic.

Some though have been more subtle, like the millionaire tennis
sisters. Sensibly they did not waste their talent, waiting for the
world to end, but pursued their own goals. Some hypocrisy
maybe, on their part. But no disconnection from reality.

All of the so called “christs brothers” are going to be dismissed during the great tribulation, “cast the courtyard clear”. “The kingdom of the heavens will be like” illustrations make this clear. The, so called reason, the false, deluding parusia, the believe of being in the spiritual divine habitation and the looking down of others beliefs 2thess2, but worse, the beating of the innocents Matt24 45 illustration. That is why in Matt25 chirst brothers will be in need of assistance or as rev 12 puts it ” the earth came to the woman’s rescue. God’s house is first to be judged. .
