Get Involved

Occasionally we receive emails from readers who want to get involved in our work of surveying the opinions of Jehovah’s Witnesses and providing objective analysis of Watchtower developments. This page offers a number of suggestions as to how you can help out.

Spread the word

jw-sound-carAre you active on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Reddit? If so, you can be of enormous help to JWsurvey by sharing links to important articles. Roughly 20% of our site traffic comes from links that have been shared in this way, and you never know how many of these hits are Jehovah’s Witnesses accessing information for the first time.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are still a Witness or are scared of repercussions through Witness friends/family, we would strongly recommend setting up social media accounts under a pseudonym, and not sharing ANY personal information online that could identify you.

If you are able to be even more public in helping us with our work, you can print out and distribute flyers aimed at (1) directing Witnesses to our website, and (2) raising awareness among non-Witnesses.

Witnesses tend to be suspicious when it comes to accepting literature from others – especially literature that might criticize their beliefs. However, with a degree of tact and sincerity there is every likelihood that a Witness will read a sensitively-worded leaflet if his peers are unaware that he has it, and he already has doubts.

typing-keysAre you are writer, or do you have writing skills? We are always open to publishing articles of interest so long as they complement the tone of our website and are factually based. If you would like to contribute an article to JWsurvey, please send it by email to contact@jwsurvey.org (no more than 1,500 words, please!) and we will let you know if we can agree to publish it on our site.

Perhaps you are not a writer, but you have access to information that could be of interest to JWsurvey readers. If this is the case, please forward it to the email address above, and we will let you know if it is something we can use in a future article (please bear in mind we are extremely busy, so you will not always get a response straight away).

If you are hesitant because you are worried about how the information will be used, please don’t be. All personal information shared with us is held in strictest confidence and will not be shared with any third parties, or used to identify you in any way. We just want your opinion – we have no interest in causing you any bother or distress!

Translate articles

languagesDo you have your own blog or website in another language? If so, please feel free to translate any of our articles into your own language on your site, and link back to JWsurvey as your source. You do not need to ask our permission to do this so long as you are genuine and not misrepresenting or trying to take credit for our work. Please also let us know about your site so that we can direct speakers of your language to it via our links page.

PLEASE NOTE: Occasionally we receive generous offers to translate our surveys, or other pages of our website. Though we greatly appreciate our readers making their time and skills available to us in this way, unfortunately at present we do not have the staffing or resources to produce JWsurvey in multiple languages. If that changes, we will make sure our readers are the first to find out!

piggy-bankAs our site has grown we have been able to give serious thought to improving JWsurvey and equipping it for the long-term. Generous donations have enabled us to expand our website’s functionality, pay for hosting costs, and buy any equipment needed.

Our regular expenses fall into four key areas:

  • Meeting web hosting and domain registration costs
  • Investment in professional online survey tools (a regular subscription to surveymonkey.com)
  • Investment in equipment and software, i.e. for high-quality video/audio production
  • Offsetting expenses for time spent managing the website and producing new content where necessary
